That shout-out is just fabulous. I hope your Inbox has been going bananas this week in the best of ways!
Also, I absolutely love the seeming value-contrast at work in that bracelet: the lavish use of gold, and right in the middle of it a pencil, surely everyone's top pick these days for "hey, name me an item that's not actually free but it's considered basically worthless". A lovely reminder that real worth has so much to do with context (furthermore regarding how that pencil gets used, in this case).
Thanks, Mike! Yes, it’s been crazy, but so much fun! And that bracelet is such a wonderful marriage of luxury and utility. It’s a lot like a high-end chatelaine. It’s also a credit to the ingenuity of the jeweler, who was out there thinking up ever more new and creative ways to separate the aristocracy from their money. A fancy trinket like this would have been a no-brainer when you think of the huge amount of money they splashed out to get their daughters suitably attired for the Season, but it still served a specific need, however frivolous. I would have liked to have something like it back in my clubbing days, when we stashed our cash and IDs in our shoes!
While adorable, this looks like a snake guarding an emergency tampon to me.
Haaaa it does!!!! Well, good design evolves with the times, lol
