Ugh this is s u c h a good edition of Dearest! I'm dead.
There was mention of the Bronte manuscript in the Times over the weekend, and I'm so pleased it's going to the Parsonage museum. That's great news.
Also, that bracelet is spectacular, but the praying mantis necklace is giving me serious grabby hands!! I kind of hate that the necklace estimate is so low because that makes it seem accessible, but I expect that one will blow the estimate away. Same for the bracelet, frankly.
Dearest is one of my favorite newsletters. Thank you for creating it, it's fabulous!
Thank you for reading it!!!
Delightful stuff—those emerald slabs! Your descriptions are phenomenal. Your eye is unerring. Thank you.
Ha, thank you!!

Yes, the Heyman estimate seems low to me, too! I have the auction on right now and they're around 60 lots away. VERY curious to see how well it does.
It just sold for 1,150,000 CHF, so with the fees added that comes out to around $1,448,000. I'm glad; it's a truly magnificent piece.
In my head I was thinking $1M-1.5M, and that seems right for that. The craftsmanship is just spectacular.
The little tiny Bronte book!
RIGHT!?!!?! Her struggles with the spelling of "rhyme" - I'm dead. I love her so much.
Even though I kind of love it, I think I would be a walking bug dance if I were wearing the Praying Mantis necklace.
Ha!
Amazing! I'm writing something about Rolex at the moment and would love to talk to you about it.
Sure, shoot me an email! Although fair warning - I know absolutely zilch about watches, so I'm not sure how much help I could be.
Thank you so much, Monica!
